We will attempt to provide timely information relative to the organization and operation of the GMPG Retirement Club on this page.
9/30/2010 We have finished a busy summer schedule. We held a social meeting at the Proving Grounds. PG management is very supportive of the Retiree Club and we agreed to help support several PG activities. We had a Club information tent at the PG Classic Car Show and we provided manpower to support the PG Open House. We had our second golf outing which, while very successful, was lightly attended. We finished the Club year with our annual Members Business/Social Luncheon. The Board of Directors met after the lunch and elected officers for the 2010/2011 years.

4/9/2010 Your reporter has been asleep on the job. Several of the board members headed south once the weather got cold here in Michigan. That brought activities to a halt. Now that spring is here we will start planning club activities. For your information the club officers and directors are:
Michael McDermit - President
Arne Berg - Vice President
Richard Krueger - Treasurer
David Olds - Secretary
The Board Members are:
Carol Berg
Charles (Doug) Constance
Steven Lloyd
Jon McLeod
Our Vice-President Arne Berg passed away this winter at his home in Bradenton FL. His enthusiastic support will be missed.
8/14/2009 A lot has happened since June. We have completed the incorporation process with the State of Michigan. We have also completed our first election of the Board of Directors. The membership approved the Club By-Laws and Board of Directors. A successful golf outing was held and our first Members Meeting is scheduled for September 29, 2009. Information on the Members Meeting will be sent to members in the near future.
6/22/2009 Our plan to have the first member meeting at the Proving Ground on August 21 has not worked out. We are looking into other locations and dates.
6/5/2009 We currently have over 80 membership applications and receiving more every week. There have been over 440 hits on this website so the word is getting out. We are making significant progress with the club By-Laws. We held our first directors meeting last month and started making plans for our first members' meeting in August. We are also getting organized for our first election of the club's directors. The plan is to conduct the election process over the internet. The legal papers for incorporating the club as a Michigan nonprofit corporation are being prepared and reviewed. Hopefully, we will have them into the state this month. After we are incorporated we will file our organizing papers with the IRS.
The Membership meeting is being planned and it will be held in September. When plans are firmed up we will notify the membership of the details. There will be a short business meeting where the results of the elections are announced and approved by the membership. We are also planning on having two speakers - one from the Proving Ground and one from the Retiree Communications Group.
1/4/2009 We have received approximately 60 applications for membership. The PG retirees have settled all over the country. Well now that the new year has started we will have to get busy with the Bylaws.
12/08/2008 Apparently word is starting to spread because applications for membership have increased significantly. Due to travel and other distractions the work on the Bylaws have slowed. We also need to get the email addresses of all the new members into a site address book. Then we will be ready to distribute the Bylaws. Until then, you can help by spreading the word. Thanks!
11/10/2008 Club Bylaws are being drafted. Once they are completed, they will be distributed to all interested parties for their review and comment. A final legal review will be required.
